Budgeting Features

Monthly Budgets

Klop organizes your budget by month. Each month contains:

• Groups - Category groups like “Income”, “Housing”, “Transport”
• Line Items - Specific budget items with planned amounts
• Actuals - Imported bank transactions matched to items

Creating Line Items

1. Navigate to a month view
2. Click Add Item in any group
3. Enter the item name and planned amount
4. Choose the item type:
   • Fixed - Regular fixed expenses (rent, insurance)
   • Variable - Flexible spending (groceries, entertainment)
   • Sum Tag - Dynamic totals based on transaction tags
   • Income - Salary and other income sources

Tracking Actuals

When you import bank transactions, Klop automatically:

1. Matches transactions to budget items
2. Shows actual spend next to planned amounts
3. Calculates remaining budget
4. Highlights overspending

Copy Months

Save time by copying a previous month:

1. Click the copy icon on any month
2. Enter a name for the new month
3. All groups and items are copied (without assigned transactions)
